What We Do

Mark Carney and the Liberals are building Canada Strong.

The Liberal Party of Canada is an association of members and supporters who share a vision of a prosperous, socially just, united, and environmentally healthy Canada for all Canadians.

Our mission is to represent Canadians in Parliament in order to realize our vision to have Liberal values and principles embodied in the governance of our country.

What the Carney government has achieved:

  • Established the new Canada Groceries Benefit to help 12 million Canadians get ahead

  • Removed the federal fuel excise tax so that Canadians save at the gas pump

  • Cut middle-class taxes so that 22 million Canadians keep more of their hard-earned paycheques

  • Expanded international trade and security relationships

  • Launched the Build Communities Strong Fund to speed up construction of new rec centres, colleges, training centres, hospitals, and water and transit systems across Canada

  • Invested over $60 billion in Canada’s defence and security to rebuild, rearm and reinvest in the Canadian Armed Forces

Meet John

John Aldag served two terms as a Member of Parliament representing the residents of the Langleys and Surrey. Growing up on the Prairies, John learned the values of kindness and hard work—and that in life, family and community are everything.

As a young man, John followed his passions for the environment, history, and public service, leading him to a long career with Parks Canada and then to serving in the House of Commons. He believes inclusivity and strong relationships are key to meet the challenges Canadians face, both here at home and in Ottawa.

A proud husband to Elaine and father of three—Kai, Hattie, and Kalani—John has lived in Langley since 2005. He looks forward to representing Langley Township-Fraser Heights as our next MP.
